2006 WGCA Spring Forum
A Social and Substantive Evening
|
Over 120 WGCA members gathered at the home of Founding Member Lori Morris for a chance to reconnect with each other as well as with the issues that challenge Alexandria's children.
Karen Devlin, WGCA Chair, welcomed everyone, gave an update on WGCA business and introduced the evening's guest speakers:
Silvia Zaleta-Meza,
Senior Family Support Worker,
Healthy Families Alexandria, and
The Honorable Stephen W. Rideout,
retired Chief Judge of the Alexandria Juvenile and
Domestic Relations District Court
Thank you, Founding Member Lori Morris, for welcoming us into your home and sponsoring this fabulous event!

Judge Rideout spoke to the value of reaching at-risk children as early as possible by engaging parents from the start. Before leaving the bench in August 2004, Judge Rideout successfully lead a number of projects that sought to reduce the court’s caseload and improve services for children and families in Alexandria. He continues to serve as a member of the statewide advisory group that prepared for Virginia’s Child and Family Service Reviews (CFSR) by HHS and the preparation of its Program Improvement Plan (PIP).
