Making a Sustainable Difference in the Lives of Alexandria’s Most Vulnerable Families or Assuring Success for Alexandria’s Children Community Financial Gifts: The Women’s Giving Circle of Alexandria pools the financial contributions made by our members and strategically invests 100% of these resources back into the community programs that prepare Alexandria’s Children for Success. Giving Priority: The WGCA gives priority to programs that help parents engage effectively with their children. We believe that a child’s parents or primary caregivers are the strongest asset a child has – supporting parents and providing them with the education and support they need to be a champion for their child is essential for any child’s success now and throughout life. Approach to Giving We Collaborate: … with members. By pooling our financial and intellectual resources, our Gifts can make a strategic and sustainable difference in the lives of Children and their families. … with community leaders and experts. By teaming with those who work daily to address the needs of our community, as well as those who know best how to deliver human and educational services, we gain an understanding of the barriers to children’s success. We are able to identify successful approaches to address those barriers. …with non-profit agencies. By working with established organizations that provide essential human services in Alexandria, we are able to identify gaps, recognize opportunities for partnership, and facilitate the establishment of new programs that reach children and families who were not reached before. We focus on outcomes: We set our sights on specific outcomes, what we want to achieve for Alexandria’s children and families. Then, our collaborative process helps us zero in on the best programs to achieve those outcomes.
